It is our pleasure to announce that the next edition of the Beyond Data Event will be held on the 30th of March 2017 in the City of Eindhoven. The 8th edition already.
We can learn from each other
Advancements in this dynamic and disruptive market are rapidly developing. The opportunities for businesses, science and authorities are endless. But what’s next? How do we measure results, what is the added value to all stakeholders, how do we involve our citizens in the debate?
During the Beyond Data Event, inspirational speakers, critical players, strategists and policy makers will take you on a journey connecting data with the organizations and the data users. Not in competition, but side by side: we can learn from each other, even from our mistakes.
Pilots, trails and real life cases
This edition will see a shift from pilots and trials to real life cases. We are asking cities to come forward with their best practice cases, however small or big, and share them with other cities. For this edition, I hope to welcome more international guests to Eindhoven, including for example, the CIO of the city of Palo Alto, and also civic hackers from Ireland, Poland and Romania. I strongly believe that the more we share, the more we will learn and the better we will be able to foster innovation. Even more than in previous editions, we are calling for collaboration. Eindhoven may be known as the city of experimentation, but more than that, it is the city with an open attitude toward working together.
Eindhoven; the city of talent
Eindhoven is the city of talent. We welcome this talent to our Living Data hackathon: how can we turn data into practice? The outcome and the process are of equal importance, and I challenge you to work together: developers, designers, young people, critical thinkers and everyone who wants to make the world a better place.
This edition also focusses on being critical about ethical and privacy issues. Let’s not walk away from these issues, but rather let’s have an open debate. I wish you an inspiring event!
